Update: Mercedes Stolen From Natatorium Lot Recovered
The following information was provided by Cuyahoga Falls Police. It does not indicate a conviction.
The owner of a 2011 Mercedes Benz C-Class sedan that was stolen Sept. 19 from the Natatorium parking lot recovered the $31,000 car Tuesday afternoon from behind a city business, according to Cuyahoga Falls Police.
Lt. Steve Guldeman said the vehicle’s owner, a Falls resident, received a phone call from someone who saw it parked behind Testa Companies at 2335 2nd St. The caller knew the man’s car, possibly because of its vanity license plates.
Guldeman said there didn’t appear to be any damage to the luxury car, which the owner drove away from the scene before calling police to report that it had been found.

According to the Sept. 19 police report about the theft, the man’s car keys were swiped from his unlocked locker at the Natatorium.
Police had said that surveillance video from the city gym shed light on who may have committed the crime – a 20-year-old Akron man known for theft. However, Guldeman said Thursday that the case is “still an open investigation.”
