Suspected Weed Trafficker Arrested After Felony Domestic Violence Dispute

Brandon J. Richards, 23, of Cuyahoga Falls, was arrested after allegedly threatening his significant other with a handgun, and for dealing marijuana.

A squad of Cuyahoga Falls Police and SWAT team members arrested Brandon J. Richards at 1:15 a.m. Thursday in the 3300 block of Bath Heights Drive.

Richards, 23, of Cuyahoga Falls, was arrested after he allegedly threatened his significant other with a handgun, and for dealing marijuana, said Falls Police Lt. Steve Guldeman.

After speaking with the victim, police decided to deploy their SWAT team to assist in the arrest.

When police executed a warrant and entered his residence at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Richards wasn't home. He was arrested two hours later when he returned to the residence in a car. 

He was charged with trafficking in marijuana, a fifth-degree felony, and domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.

The victim reported the alleged domestic violence incident to police at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and said it had occurred at Richards' Bath Heights residence.

Guldeman said the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be leveled against him.

Richards is in custody at Summit County Jail.
