Suicide Standoff Ends Peacefully at Economy Inn
After a domestic dispute, a 28-year-old Iraq War veteran, locked himself inside the Falls hotel room and threatened to kill himself with a .40 caliber handgun.
On Saturday morning, police were told that a suicidal man had locked himself inside a room at the with a handgun at his side.
When officers arrived at the hotel, the 28-year-old man refused to come out or unlock the door, according to a report.

The man, an Iraq war veteran who was upset by a domestic dispute, spoke to a VA counselor during the standoff with police.
After over two hours of negotiations, he decided to peacefully give himself up.

When he handed his gun over to the police, it was secured in a case with a lock attached to the trigger.
The gun was never a threat to any officer.
The report said the man will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
