Scam Costs Elderly Man $4,000; Another String of Burglaries Reported: Crime Blotter

On April 4, an 81-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was scammed out of $4,200 when he sent cash via MoneyGram to a con man in Lima, Peru. There are no leads or suspects, according to the police report.

A 21-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman living in the 1300 block of Bailey Road called police April 3 after a burglar reportedly entered her home and stole $200 worth of electronics. There are suspects and the woman intends to prosecute. 

A 42-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman living in the 2300 block of Third Street alerted police April 4 after a burglar reportedly walked through her unlocked front door and stole a watch and necklace valued at $250. There are no leads or suspects.

A 49-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman living in the 4800 block of State Road called police April 4 after a burglar reportedly smashed through her sliding glass door and rummaged through her home. Estimated damage: $400. The woman reported nothing had been stolen.
