Rottweiler Attack; Jewel Theft; and Vandalism: Crime Blotter

Vicious dog attack

A cat was sitting on its owner's back patio May 13 when it was mauled by a pair of dogs, one of which was a Rottweiler, according to a Cuyahoga Falls police report. 

The pet owner intervened and stopped the attack, but the cat's injuries proved fatal.

The resident, who lives in the 3300 block of Brookpoint Lane, didn't know where the dogs came from or who owned them.

A woman's 2002 Toyota Camry was heavily vandalized May 12 in the 2200 block of 10th Street. 

According to the police report, all of her windows and side view mirrors were shattered.

Estimated damage: $3,000. 

Cleaned out

A Cuyahoga Falls woman alerted police after a burglar reportedly crept into her apartment on May 10 and stole a safe containing $2,100 worth of gold and diamond jewelry.

The burglary reportedly occurred in the 1400 block of Second Street, according to the police report.
