Rash of Thefts on 13th Street, Man Caught with DVDs at BAM

Theft 

• An Akron man was arrested on charges of theft, criminal trespassing and using criminal tools at  bookstore, ., on Sept. 4. A BAM employee told police the suspect tried to take 26 DVD movies out of the store in two drawstring bags. Police said the suspect left the bags after he was confronted by employees. He was on the store's "no trespass" list, police said. 

• A Ninth Street resident reported that her son's Nike Aggressor shoes, valued at about $100, were stolen between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Sept. 4. There is a suspect, police said. 

• A digital camera valued at $100 was stolen from a car parked on the 1500 block of Second Street between Sept. 1 and Sept. 3. 

• A black and blue Meltdown bicycle was stolen from the front porch of a house on the 2900 block of 13th Street between 9 and 11 p.m. Aug. 28. The bike was valued at $75. 

• An orange Next Generation bicycle valued at $100 was stolen from rear patio on the 2900 block of 13th Street between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 3. 

Breaking and entering, theft

A resident of the 2900 block of 13th Street reported that someone stole her Kindle ebook reader from the backyard and stole her son's Dyno bicycle from the garage between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept 3. 

Auto theft

A guest at , 1989 Front St., reported his Chevrolet Lumina minivan was stolen shortly after midnight Sept. 6. The minivan, valued at $3,000, was recovered by Akron Police.
