Police: Woman Charged After Killing Pets

The following was obtained from Cuyahoga Falls Police reports dated Dec. 7-9. It does not indicate a conviction.

Cruelty to animals

A 50-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman was charged with cruelty to animals on Dec. 9 after allegedly suffocating her two cats, according to a Cuyahoga Falls Police report. 

Officers initially responded to her Kennedy Boulevard residence after she called 9-1-1 and reported she was suicidal, said police Sgt. Michael Heinl. When officers arrived, they found the dead animals, which she admitted to killing.

The woman will be prosecuted on the misdemeanor charge in Stow Municipal Court.
