Police Find Driver in Wrecked Car With 50 Needles, Cocaine

Brian Dent, 36, of Orlando, Fla., was arrested on multiple drug-related charges Sunday night.

Brian M. Dent was found with a cache of drugs and drug paraphernalia after reportedly causing two accidents in Akron and Cuyahoga Falls Sunday night.

Akron police had already been tracking Dent, 36, of Orlando, Fla., before he totaled his car in the La-Z-Boy parking lot at 172 Howe Ave, according to a Cuyahoga Falls police report.

Dent had suffered unknown injuries in one or both of the accidents, and used his car's OnStar system to signal for help.

Falls police tracked his signal and found him at the local furniture store at about 11 p.m. June 9, said Cuyahoga Falls Police Lt. Dale Gramley.

After Dent was sent to the hospital, police searched his car and found 50 hypodermic needles, a glass pipe coated with white residue, individual pill bags, a plastic straw and a bag of cocaine.

Dent was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

He was also charged with felony drug abuse, according to the police report.

According to court records, Dent's arraignment has not yet been scheduled.
