Police Charge Woman for Embezzling $350,000 from Cuyahoga Falls Library

A Tallmadge woman turned herself in to police Monday morning and was charged with two third-degree felonies.

A three-month-long investigation led Cuyahoga Falls police to arrest Theresa M. Karm Monday morning.

Karm, 54, of Tallmadge, was charged with one count of theft and one count of theft in office — both third-degree felonies — by Cuyahoga Falls Police.

Officials said Karm, who was the Cuyahoga Falls Public Library's fiscal officer, is accused of embezzling nearly $350,000 since 2007. Police said she was arraigned at the Stow Municipal Court after turning herself in Monday.

Karm posted bond and was released.

Police Chief Tom Pozza posted a press release about the incident on the Cuyahoga Falls Police Facebook page
