Police: Brothers Tracked Down, Arrested After Breaking Into Family Treasures

With the use of eyewitness information, Cuyahoga Falls police were able to track Jerry and Stephen Torres down within minutes of the jewelry heist.

Jerry and Stephen Torres, both of Cuyahoga Falls, were arrested late Tuesday after the pair allegedly smashed their way into Family Treasures and made off with several pieces of jewelry.

Cuyahoga Falls police officers responded to the jewelry store, located at 424 Portage Trail, and, with the help of eyewitness information, were able to track the brothers down within minutes of the smash-and-grab crime, according to the Cuyahoga Falls Police Facebook page.

Police found them at 143 Hayes Ave. after spotting a van that matched the description of what the brothers used to flee the scene.

A large amount of jewelry was recovered from the residence, according to the press release.

Each suspect was charged with breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and was arraigned Wednesday morning in Stow Municipal Court.
