Police Blotter: Woman Attempts To Cash Counterfeit Check

As reported to the
Jan. 10, a woman attempted to cash a counterfeit payroll check for $888.67 at an Akron Checksmart. She told officers responding to the call a false social security number, and admitted the check was forged.
Police arrested her and her car was towed. Another forged check was found in her car, along with a bottle of hydrocodone and a bag of marijuana.

Upon being taken to Summit County Jail, she had two counts of forgery, two counts of drug abuse and one count of obstructing official business.

- Police arrested a woman for possessing crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in her purple backpack found at block 70 of Hunter Parkway. A related male was arrested on the same counts, where his drugs were found on him in front of 2900 State Road, , Jan. 10.
- At a traffic stop, police found two males were under the influence of alcohol and under 21 years old. One male had marijuana, a blue smoking glass and grinder with marijuana on it, Jan. 12.
