Man and woman opt for five-finger discount

A pair of thieves was spotted trying to swipe a stack of DVD’s from Giant Eagle on Monday afternoon. As the man and woman headed for the exit, they were grabbed by supermarket staff. They wriggled free, dropped the discs and ran off. The merchandise was valued at $250, according to Cuyahoga Falls police.

Theft

• A woman reported that her key fob and Target credit card were stolen from her car on Tuesday evening on 19th Street. The items were valued at $225.

• On Monday afternoon, a man called police after he discovered a bag of power tools had been taken from his unlocked SUV on 20th Street. There was no damage to the car, but the tools were valued at over $400.

Breaking and entering

• The owner of the Townhouse on Edward Avenue reported on Monday that someone broke into his building. However, none of the man’s possessions were taken.

• On Monday afternoon, two teenagers came home from school to find that someone had broken into their home. Nothing was stolen from the School Avenue residence.

• A Portage Trail resident called police on Monday morning after discovering someone had broken into his detached garage. Over $1,000 in property was stolen from his Ford pickup truck.

Meth arrests

• Three men and a woman were arrested on Monday morning after police found they were in possession of pseudoephedrine on State Road. Police suspect the group was trying to manufacture methamphetamine.
