Police Blotter: Rash of Thefts from Cars

The following information was supplied by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

• Four residents of the 1000 block of Seibel Drive reported property was stolen from their parked cars the night of Oct. 16. Missing property included a GPS unit, sunglasses, two phone chargers, costume jewelry and a CD case with 30 CDs. Losses totaled more than $600, police said. 

• A resident of the 2300 block of 19th St. reported that an Internet company based in Stockholm, Sweden, made unauthorized charges to her debit card for at least $440.60. The resident gave card information to the company for the purchase of “Stardoll,” and the company made subsequent unauthorized charges, she told police. Attempts to contact the company have been unsuccessful. The card has been canceled.

 • A resident of the 3900 block of Wetmore Road reports that a woman removed property belonging to him when moving out of the house on Oct. 18. Missing were three men’s rings, a men’s silver bracelet, and end table and sofa table, total value $1,300.

• A GPS unit and a bag containing various percussion instruments were stolen from a car parked on the 1800 block of 17th Street the night of Oct. 15. Loss was estimated at $246.

• Property estimated to be worth $400 was taken from a car parked on the 1800 block of 17th Street the night of Oct. 15. 

• About $23 was stolen from a car parked on the 1800 block of 10th Street between Oct. 14 and Oct. 16, the owner told police.

 • A GPS unit and charger and cellphone charger valued at $180 were taken from a car parked in a parking lot on the 1000 block of Clyde Avenue the night of Oct. 16.

• Personal property valued at $15 was taken from a car parked on the 1800 block of 10th Street between Oct. 16 and Oct. 18. The owner reported a cassette player was damaged also.

• A Mongoose BMX bicycle valued at $150 was stolen from the bike rack at Cuyahoga Falls Library, 2015 3rd St., between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 14. It was not locked, police said. 

• A resident of the 900 block of Falls Avenue reports that a camera, GPS unit, cellphone and credit cards were taken from her minivan while parked the night of Oct. 15.

 • A resident of the 1500 block of Front Street reported her estranged boyfriend stole her smart phone, valued at $400, on Oct. 17.

 • A combination lock, cellphone and two American Eagle gift cards were stolen from a locker at Cuyahoga Falls High School on Oct. 17.
