Police Blotter: Mother Charged With Drug Abuse, Child Endangering Loses Custody of Son

A 38-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman was charged with drug abuse and child endangering after driving with her 20-month-old son in the car while intoxicated, according to a . She was arrested Friday afternoon at 1189 Tallmadge Rd. as she tried to drop her son off at a Childtime Learning Center. A Summit County Children’s Services social worker arrived on scene and took the young boy into emergency protective custody.

Car theft

On Wednesday morning, someone opened the door of a woman's unlocked minivan and stole her GPS unit, wallet and credit cards. The items were most likely swiped late Tuesday night as her car sat in an open garage on Meadow Lane. Unauthorized purchases were applied to the cards before she could cancel them. If the suspect is found, the woman intends to prosecute.

Hold the peace paint

A hippie vandal defaced the Portage Trail Thursday night by spray-painting a 4-foot peace sign on the building’s east wall. There are currently no leads or suspects.
