Police Blotter: Man Jumps into Cuyahoga River to Evade Police, Doesn't Work

The following information was supplied by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • Police said that on Sept. 18, Cuyahoga Falls man Bradley Taylor, 20, ran from the police after being told to stop in the 2500 block of Hudson Drive. Taylor had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was suspected in current drug activity. Taylor jumped into the Cuyahoga River and attempted to swim away from police. He continued swimming even after being told by police he was under arrest. Police found Taylor's backpack which contained three cans of alcoholic beverages and a marijuana pipe. Taylor was eventually apprehended.
  • Police said that on Sept. 18, Akron man Forrest Horvath, 22, impeded the ability of officers who were pursuing another suspect on foot by failing to leave the area when instructed at the intersection of Gaylord Grove and Hudson Drive. Police also said that Horvath was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. When told he was under arrest, Horvath squared off against the officers and refused orders. Police said they had to use a Taser on Horvath to get him in order.
