Police Blotter: Gunpoint Road Rage, Car Thefts and Stolen Property

Gunpoint road rage
Late Monday night, a man decided to end a traffic altercation by pulling a handgun. The man asked the motorist – whom he was arguing with – whether or not “he wanted to get shot tonight,” according to a Cuyahoga Falls police report. The man chose the path of least resistance and the gunman drove off on 3rd Street.

Stolen Electronics
- On Tuesday afternoon, a man reported that someone entered his Sackett Avenue residence and swiped his MacBook Pro. There were no signs of forced entry. The Apple laptop was valued at $1,300.
- A man called police on Tuesday morning after someone nabbed his Garmin GPS system from his unlocked sedan on Hunter’s Lake Drive. The item was valued at $150.
- A woman reported that a man slipped out of on Tuesday morning with a desktop computer under his arm. The item was valued at $1,300.

- On Monday night, the general manager of Marhofer Nissan told police that someone had stolen a brand new Pathfinder right off the Howe Avenue lot. Shortly after the call was made, the SUV, valued at $35,000, was recovered by the Akron Police Department. The suspected car thieves were caught, arrested and jailed.
- A man called police on Monday morning and said someone had stolen his 2001 Ford Mustang from High Street. Later that day, officers found the sports car off Peninsula Road and returned it to the owner.
