Police Blotter: Falls Woman Thwarts Burglary

The following was culled from Cuyahoga Falls police reports dated May 27. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Prange Drive resident reported that at 1:30 a.m. Sunday she heard someone knocking on her door. When she didn’t answer, the burglar jiggled her doorknob. Finding it was locked; the thief moved to her bedroom window and tried to pop the screen. She immediately flipped on the light, peered out her window and saw a tall, skinny white man running off her property. According to the report, there are no leads or suspects.

Burglaries that weren't thwarted

  • On Sunday afternoon, a man reported a burglar had slipped into his Roanoke Avenue residence and stole cash, keys and an emerald necklace. Estimated loss: $1,200.
  • It didn’t take long for a Victor Avenue resident to figure out her house had been burglarized after a desk, table, outdoor canopy and Playstation video game system had vanished. Estimated loss: $200.  
  • On Sunday evening, a Viewpoint Avenue resident called police after someone broke into her house and stole a Playstation video game system, video games and a Nintendo DS. Estimated loss: $400.
