Police Blotter: Callers Have Malice in Mind

The following information was supplied by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Telephone harassment, menacing

• A Sill Avenue resident told police her ex-boyfriend threatened her about 11 p.m. Oct. 11, saying “When I get my CCW (concealed carry weapon) permit, you are (expletive delected).” She was unsure about pressing charges, police said. 

• A Washington Avenue couple reported that their 18-year-old son was sending harassing text messages and threatening on Facebook to stab family members. The parents told police they believed the threats were real, but refused to prosecute.

• A resident of the 1600 block of Underwood Street reported that he has received repeated call to his cellphone with threats to kill him and his family. Police advised him to save all voicemails and text messages. He said he will prosecute.

• Four tires were punctured on a car parked on Suncrest Road between 7 and 9:30 p.m. Oct. 11. Loss was estimated at $600. 

• The left rear window of Kia Sportage parked on the 600 block was broken either Oct. 11 or Oct. 12. Damage was estimated at $250.

• A resident of the 2100 block of Bailey Road reported that a front window of his house was broken at about 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11. The resident told police he knows who did it, and was advised to contact a prosecutor to press charges.

• A semi-tractor parked in a parking lot on the 4100 block of Wyoga Lake Road without the owner’s permission, starting in May, has caused an estimated $50,000 in damage, the owner told police.

• An Akron man reported that a fender on his pickup truck was damaged while parked at Big Lots, 405 Howe Ave., between about 5 and 6 p.m. on Oct. 9. Damage was estimated at $300.

Theft            

• A resident of the 1900 block of Victoria Street reported a driver’s license, valued at $25, was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the driveway on Oct. 9.

• A city employee reported that an aluminum grounding mat was removed from a utility pole at Oak Park (2550 Bailey??) sometime between Aug. 1 and Oct. 11. 

• A bicycle locked to a fence was stolen from the patio of a home on the 2800 block of Ninth Street between Sept. 28 and Oct. 9. The face was damaged during the theft. Loss is estimated at $350.

• About $215 in cash was stolen from a black Dodge SUV while it was parked on the 2300 block of Eighth Street about 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 10, police said.

• The owner of Furniture Depot, 3656 State Rd., reported that a catalytic converter was stolen from a delivery truck the night of Oct. 10. Loss was estimated at $1,724. 

Burglary

 A house on the 300 block of Marion Lake Boulevard was broken into and copper piping was removed between Oct. 5 and 11. The homeowner is deceased, police said.
