Police Blotter: Burglary and Assault, Crafty Crook and Identity Fraud

Last Friday evening, a woman called police after two intruders broke into the attached garage of her 26th Street residence. They dragged her down, kicked her and fled. The attackers made off in a blue car, according to a Cuyahoga Falls Police report.  

Talented crook

On Saturday morning, a 3rd Street resident said a burglar climbed up to her second story apartment, broke in through the balcony door and nabbed her TV. The HD set was valued at $700.

Criminal damaging

A woman received an unwelcome surprise on Easter Sunday when she walked out to her car on Victor Avenue and found the windshield had been smashed. She estimated the damage at $500.

Don’t forget to lock your doors

On Sunday afternoon, a Maplewood Street resident reported that someone opened his unlocked car door and stole his wallet, cash, credit cards, passport and iPod. The items were valued at $400.

Identity fraud

A TV enthusiast stole a man’s identity and ran up a $1,600 cable bill. The High Street resident discovered the fraud on Monday afternoon and told police he thought the account had been closed years ago.
