Police Blotter: Burglaries, Identity Theft, Assaulting an Officer

The following information was provided by Cuyahoga Falls police. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary

• A resident of the 1400 block of Buckingham Gate told police that a woman brandishing a knife entered his home, threatened him with the knife and took $800 from his bedroom at 11 p.m. Nov. 16.

•  A resident of the 1800 block of Second Street told police somebody entered her home while she was out between 9:30 and 6 p.m. Nov. 14 and placed mail on her living room table. Nothing appeared to be missing.

• A resident of the 2500 block of 11th Street reported that someone entered his apartment between 10:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 and took two game systems, a laptop computer and about 20 DVDs. Loss was estimated at $980.

• Residents on the 1500 block of Second Street reported that someone broke the glass on their rear door and took laptop computers, TVs, an Xbox game system and jewelry between 9:30 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. Nov. 14. Loss was estimated at $2,514.

Identity theft

• A resident of the 1500 block of 10th Street reported that someone used her personal information to make an insurance claim with State Farm. She has no policies with State Farm.

•  A resident of the 300 block of Victor Avenue said his brother had assumed his identity while in Hillsboro County, Florida. The brother, William James Lee of Winter Parkway in Cuyahoga Falls, admitted taking his brother’s identity and was arrested Nov. 12, police said.

Assault

• A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested on charges of assaulting a law-enforcement officer and resisting arrest at 1:35 p.m. Nov. 14. He had walked out of Education Alternatives, which had asked police to bring him back.

Criminal damaging

• The custodian at Lions Park, 641 Silver Lake Drive, reported that three panes of glass at the lodge had been damaged sometime between Nov. 13 and Nov. 16. Damage was estimated to be $2,000.

• Two lawns on the 2400 block of Russell Street were turfed between 9 p.m. and midnight Nov. 14.

• A resident of the 800 block of Frances Avenue told police somebody cut a tire on her car the morning of Nov. 14. There is a suspect and the resident said she would prosecute.
