Police Blotter: Akron Man Attempts to Run Away with Case of Beer

The following information was supplied by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Robbery

Steven Sickler of Akron was arrested after attempting to steal a case of beer by force at Circle K, 2386 Bailey Rd.

Attempted burglary

Someone pried a door on the west side of a home on the 400 block of Dillon Drive on Sept. 14 but did not gain entry. Damage to the door was estimated at $100.

A resident of the 500 block of Americana Drive reported reported that someone kicked open the front door at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 12, breaking the deadbolt and frame. The burglar fled when the resident screamed.

Burglary, breaking and entering

A resident of the 2600 block of Dawn Terrace reported that two handguns were taken from his home sometime in May. He filed a report after Akron police contacted him to tell him that a man who had the Dawn Terrace resident’s .22-caliber handgun had been arrested. The resident said a .357 Magnum was also missing. Total value of the guns was $800.

The rear door of a residence on the 1500 block of Second Street was pried open on Sept. 13, and a 32-inch flat-screen TV was taken.

Between Sept. 9 and Sept. 12, nine boxes of low-voltage wire was stolen from a construction site at 1846 Front St., the contractor reported. The wire was valued at $500. A wallet was found on the scene, on the third floor.
