Police Blotter: Sticky Fingers Edition

Theft
• A resident of the 300 block of Van Buren Avenue said someone stole 11 Xbox games from his son’s bedroom between July and Oct. 14. The loss was estimated at $660.
• A resident of the 2400 block of Eighth Street said her purse was taken from her minivan between 6:30 and 7:15 p.m. Oct 15. The purse was found in a trash bin, but a wallet and iPhone were missing. Estimated loss is $400.

• A wallet was stolen from a cashier line at Giant Eagle, 230 Ave., at about 4:50 p.m. on Oct. 14. Total loss was $520.
• An iPod was stolen during class at Cuyahoga Falls High School on Oct. 10.

• A DK Cygnus bicycle was reported stolen from Bolich Middle School on Oct. 14. Loss was estimated at $400.
• A red Tony Hawk BMX bicycle was stolen on the 2000 block of Third St. on Oct. 13. The bike is valued at $150.
• An Orrville Avenue resident said someone removed $407.97 from his bank account between Sept. 11 and Sept. 13.
• A Chevrolet Cavalier was taken without the owner’s consent on Oct. 14 on the 1500 block of Ruth Avenue. A juvenile was arrested in the case.
• A resident of the 1600 block of Union Street reports giving $48 in September to a Preston Elementary School student in exchange for toothpaste, summer sausage and other items for a school fundraiser, but never received the promised goods.
• The owner of a business at 822 Portage Trail reported that eight drain grates valued at $1,200 were taken from the property the night of Oct. 12.
• A bicycle was stolen during school hours at Cuyahoga Falls High School on Oct. 11. The unlocked bike was valued at $50.
Burglary
The owner of a Keenan Avenue rental property said someone broke in and stole copper plumbing from the property. Loss was estimated at $250.
Robbery, assault
A resident on the 1300 block of Hillcrest Drive reported that an acquaintance attacked her at about 2 p.m. Oct. 14, repeatedly biting her and trying to take a $20 bill from her hand. The attacker stole her cellphone valued at $50.
Identity theft
A 25th Street resident reported that his personal information was used to charge $6,431.42 on his North Akron Savings debit Visa account. He has been reimbursed by the bank.
Forgery
• A 24th Street resident said someone took six of his personal checks and wrote checks for a total of $1,490 between Sept. 14 and Oct. 6.
• An employee at Check Smart, 696 Howe Ave., said a woman cashed a forged check for $1,843.77 in August.
