Mother and Daughter Declared Missing, Found Weeks Later Beside California Highway

Jaime Marie Woods, 36, of Cuyahoga Falls, and her eight-year-old daughter were discovered in an SUV by California Highway Patrol officers this past Tuesday.

A mother and daughter from Cuyahoga Falls – who were declared missing on Oct. 11 – were found sleeping in an SUV off a highway in Aptos, Calif. this week.

It appears Jaime Marie Woods had taken her eight-year-old daughter on a 2,500-mile drive before being discovered by California Highway Patrol officers on Tuesday at 11:15 p.m., reports the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

Police considered Woods, 36, possibly suicidal and her daughter appeared to be in a dangerous situation.

Woods had only spare change, told officers she had no plans for feeding her daughter and didn’t know what day or week it was, according to the newspaper.

Child Protective Services took the young girl into custody until her father makes the trip from Ohio to return her home.

A social worker reported their disappearance to Cuyahoga Falls Police on Oct. 11, and stated the pair had been missing since late September, according to a Falls Police report.

Thank God they were found alive. It is so so sad these days to see so so many innocent children murdered. Hoping and praying that this woman can get the help she needs.

Too bad she didn't stay in Ohio, now the taxpayers are going to have to feed her for a while until they can ship her back. See link - http://www.hutchnews.com/Localregional/accident--brief
