Men Make Off With $225 in Cigarettes From Walgreens While Clerk's Back is Turned

Police said the men ordered the large amount of cigarettes and when the clerk bent down to retrieve more, the two grabbed what was on the counter and ran

While a clerk's back was turned, two men were able to make it out of Walgreens Wednesday night with about $225 in Newport 100s.

If that sounds like a lot of cigarettes, it is. That's 40 boxes, according to the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department.

Police said the men ordered the large amount of cigarettes and when the clerk bent down to retrieve more, the two grabbed what was on the counter and ran.

The Walgreens employee described the suspects as two black men in their late 30s dressed in all black. They left the store at 2645 State Road in a gray four-door vehicle of an unknown make about 11:45 p.m. that night.
