Man Suffers Bizarre Breakdown; 'Bud Ice' Blues: Crime Blotter

The following was supplied by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Breakdown
A crazed man quickly caught the attention of passersby June 4 on Howe Avenue when he picked up a stick and began beating himself with it.

When police responded, the man told officers his mother had just passed away and that he had suffered a mental breakdown.

He also admitted he was under the influence of alcohol and methadone, according to the police report.

The man's girlfriend arrived to help calm him down, and he was transferred to St. Thomas Hospital for an evaluation and toxicology screening.

Bud Ice'd
A 62-year-old Akron man was found lying in the 1600 block of State Road by police after the department received a call that a drunk man was yelling and charging at random people.

Officers spotted a 24-ounce Bud Ice can in his hand and reported the man began cursing at them.

The intoxicated man was removed from the scene and was cited for disorderly conduct and open container.
