Compact meth lab discovered
A mini meth lab was found in a backpack along a Gorge Metro Park trail on Oct. 18. The bag contained plastic bottles, tubing and chemicals. The Cuyahoga Falls Police Narcotics Unit was called to the scene and is investigating the incident.
He was caught doing what?
On Oct. 17, Portage Towers employees set up somewhat of a sting operation to try and catch a man whom they believed was engaging in unlawful behavior in the apartment complex. A hidden surveillance camera was set up in the vending area, and the man was caught, well, brown-handed as he relieved his bowels in the middle of the refreshment room. Given the indisputable footage, the Canton man was arrested by Falls Police and charged with public indecency, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
Time to start a fire
On Oct. 16, a pair of teenage girls decided it was time to round up several election yard signs and set them on fire in the 2000 block of 3rd Street. They probably would’ve gotten away with the junior caper, but one of the girls decided her front yard was the best place to incinerate the signs. Both were cited for criminal mischief and released.
Caught in the act
A man sprinted out of Best Buy on Oct. 16 with an Xbox 360 tucked under his arm. He dropped it near Target as police gave chase and was arrested at Taco Bell. The $300 video game system was recovered, and the crook was cited for theft.
