Man Attacked While Playing Basketball at Oak Park

A man was assaulted Thursday by up to 15 people who surrounded him and took turns punching and kicking him at .
The man told that after he ran to his car, the group kicked the vehicle, broke both rear-view mirrors and climbed onto the hood to further threaten him.
The man's left ankle, left eye and both forearms were injured. Damage to the car is estimated at $500.

Burglary:
- A resident of the 1500 block of Meriline Street was robbed at gunpoint late Wednesday night in his home. Just before 10:30 p.m., after three men entered the back door of his home, pointed a small handgun at him and demanded he give them a briefcase containing gemstones and gold worth $110,000. The men then fled through the back door.
- An agent with Keller Williams Chervenic Realty told police April 16 that someone broke a window on the southeast corner of a residence on the 700 block of Munroe Falls Avenue and removed about 100 feet of copper pipe, worth $300, from the basement.
- A resident of the 700 block of Notre Dame Avenue contacted police late Saturday after discovering that someone had stolen two plastic covers for his Kawasaki all-terrain vehicle from his detached garage. The covers are worth about $300 and there are no leads or suspects at this time.
