Madison Avenue Resident Reports Thousands of Dollars of Equipment Stolen

The latest crime reports Cuyahoga Falls.

Burglary:

  • A resident of the 100 block of Madison Avenue reported $2,550 worth of equipment stolen just after 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The victim told that someone entered his home and took three guitars, 2 video game systems, 30 video games and an amplifier.

Criminal Damaging:

  • A resident of the 2300 block of Iota Avenue calld police on April 22 after discovering about $400 worth of damage to his 1999 Chevy Malibu. Officers suspect the vehicle was keyed sometime between 9 p.m. and midnight the previous evening.
  • Just before 5 a.m. April 24, a woman living on the 1600 block of Underwood Street awoke to the sound of shattering glass after an unknown suspect threw a brick through the front window of her apartment. The broken window will cost about $200 to replace.

Theft:

  • A white 2001 Ford Windstar was stolen, and quickly found, between 8 and 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The van's owner, a resident of the 2500 block of 3rd Street, left the doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition while the vehicle was parked on the street in front of her home. The van was found by police behind the former Stutzman's Bi-Rite building on Bailey Road, shortly after it was reported missing, but baseball equipment and a wallet were taken from inside.
  • Just before midnight April 23, a $125 Coach purse was stolen from a green 2000 Pontiac sedan while it was parked in front of a house on the 700 block of Howe Avenue. The victim told police that the designer handbag contained personal items worth at least $1500 in addition to damage to the driver's side door of her vehicle.
  • The owner of a black 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo contacted police Sunday afternoon after discovering a DVD player, Xbox 360 game controller and cigarettes missing from his vehicle while it was parked in a lot on the 4100 block of Americana Drive. The stolen items are valued at $670.
