Heroin Overdose; Phony Death Threat; and Man Caught With Syringes, Switchblade

Honesty is the best policy

An Akron woman said she and her boyfriend were eating dinner at O’Charley’s on Howe Avenue when he allegedly slapped her, held a knife to her neck and threatened to kill her, according to a Nov. 3 Cuyahoga Falls Police report. However, the woman didn’t realize she and her boyfriend were being taped by the restaurant’s surveillance system. After reviewing the video, officers concluded the woman had not been threatened with a weapon. The woman opted not to press charges, and was referred to the Cuyahoga Falls Prosecutor’s Office.

Switchblade Blues

A 28-year-old Stow man was caught on the 300 block of Hayes Avenue on Nov. 1 with a 4-inch switchblade and three syringes. According to the police report, the man admitted he used the needles to inject heroin. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and drug abuse instruments—both first-degree misdemeanors.

Heroin Overdose

A Cuyahoga Falls woman dialed 9-1-1 on Nov. 1 after her 31-year-old son overdosed on heroin. He was taken to Summa Western Reserve Hospital, treated and cited with disorderly conduct and drug paraphernalia.
