Heroin, Cash Seized in Cuyahoga Falls Drug Bust

Three men are in custody following the Sept. 13 incident.

Three men are in custody and face felony heroin-trafficking charges after Cuyahoga Falls police investigated a suspicious incident on Sept. 13 in the Studio City apartment complex.

After responding to 2255 Winter Pkwy. at about 4 a.m., officers deduced that drug activity was allegedly taking place in a nearby apartment and called in the Summit County Drug Task Force to assist, said Cuyahoga Falls Police Lt. Steve Guldeman. 

A warrant to search the apartment was obtained and executed, which led to the arrests and the seizure of 11 grams of heroin and $11,000 in cash.

Rodrick A. Byrd Jr., 26, of Detroit, Mich., Nathaniel D. Sanders, 19, of East Pointe, Mich. and Matthew F. Swain Jr., 30, of Cuyahoga Falls, were charged with trafficking in heroin, a first-degree felony, and were taken to Summit County Jail. 

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
