Falls Police Blotter: Burglar Has Bite to Eat, Does Some Redecorating

The following was culled from Cuyahoga Falls police reports dated July 13-15. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two people at the 1200 block of Phelps Avenue reported q burglar slipped into their residence Saturday morning. Once inside, the intruder moved a chair, a foosball table and cooked a turkey hamburger. He or she then cleaned the dishes and left.

Missing gnome

A woman at the 1900 block of Schiller reported between Thursday night and Friday night someone stole a four foot cement yard gnome from her front yard, valued at $100.

Super flag pole

Police were dispatched Saturday morning to the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority after a man noticed someone had tampered with a United States flag, hanging it upside down and suspending a large Superman doll from the flag pole ropes.

Dine and destroy

An employee of the reported Saturday morning a man who was intoxicated ran out the back door of the restaurant. When the man slammed the door shut, he shattered the glass. The damage is estimated at $200. The following morning, a man damaged a wooden fence and gate on the bar patio by striking them with a tree. The damage is estimated at $200.

Public urination

Sunday afternoon a man was found urinating on the sidewalk of State Road near Sackett Avenue where pedestrians had been walking and was visible to traffic.

Encore fireworks

Someone set off a Roman candle and bottle rocket inside the third floor hallway of an apartment building at the 2200 block of Winter Parkway Saturday night. The fireworks left scorch marks on the floor and a considerable amount of smoke. The cost of the damage is unknown.

Garbage can arson

A man reported seeing a stocky white man wearing a baseball cap approach a Dumpster shortly after midnight Saturday at the 1000 block of Clyde Avenue. When the unknown man left, a large flame and smoke appeared. Contents of the Dumpster were burned, and there were no signs of the cause of fire.
