Falls Police Blotter: Grand Theft Taxi; Sticky Fingers; and Sleepy Drunkard

The following was culled from Cuyahoga Falls police reports dated Aug. 10-11. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man decided to play taxi driver early Saturday morning when he jumped into a cabbie’s minivan and sped away on Front Street. Fortunately, the cab was found on the corner of 2nd Street and Hudson Avenue. The cabbie’s GPS was stolen, but the van was in tact. 

Sticky fingers

Two men and a woman went on a five-finger thieving spree Saturday evening at . The trio nabbed several high-end camera lenses, concealed them and fled the store. There are no suspects or leads. Total loss: $2,400.

Stuck with the tab

A 3rd Street resident called police on Friday evening to report someone had opened a Verizon wireless account in her name. There is a suspect and the woman wants to prosecute. Total loss: $2,800.

Local drunkard takes a nap

A highly intoxicated man trudged along the 2100 block of State Road and thought it a good idea to pass out in a lot adjacent to on Saturday night. Police officers found him a short while later, pulled him off the pavement and took him to detox.
