Falls Police Blotter: Conned Man; Sticky Fingers at Target; and Toilet Paper Profanity

A man living on the 1600 block of Munroe Falls Avenue was bamboozled by a con man who promised to send him $8,500 if the man wired him $592 first. The con artist claimed to be from the Federal Reserve and said the money exchange dealt with a tax refund. The man called on Aug. 3 after the $8K didn’t arrive.

Sticky Fingers

A 17-year-old girl walked into on July 31 with sticky fingers. She nabbed numerous items from the clothing racks, collected some hygiene products and darted toward an exit. Target employees stopped her, called police and recovered $600 worth of stolen merchandise. The girl was arrested and taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.

Toilet paper profanity

A resident from the 800 block of Adam Run called police on Aug. 3 to report his home had been toilet papered. The vandals hurled the bath tissue over his lawn and into nearby trees; and to cap off the mischief, they spelled out profanities on his driveway with the double-ply sheets. There are no leads or suspects.

Theft discovered

A Sackett Avenue resident called police after he claimed someone racked up $5,000 on his Discover credit card. The charges spanned seven months and took place in 2010, according to the police report. Police have a suspect and are investigating.

Racking up citations

Police approached a 21-year-old on the corner of 4th Street and Sackett Avenue on Aug. 2 for playing loud music from his parked car. He wouldn't hand his license over and was combative as officers cuffed him. When searched, they found a bag of marijuana wrapped in a dollar bill. He was cited for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and drug abuse.
