Falls Police Blotter: Aggravated Knifepoint Robbery; Attempted Burglary; and Thefts

The following was culled from Cuyahoga Falls police reports dated July 27-29. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Saturday evening, a resident living along the 3400 block of Prange Drive let a man in his home who offered to sell him an iPad and Playstation 3 at a cheap price; but the deal was too good to be true. The supposed electronics salesman turned into an aggravated robber who allegedly held him at knifepoint and demanded his money. The unidentified robber stole $200 from the unsuspecting man and fled. have a lead and are investigating.

Lifted leafblowers

A landscaper was caught off guard while at work when a thief snuck up and stole two leaf blowers and a five-gallon gas can from his truck. The theft occurred Friday morning at Bucholzer and Clyde Avenue. Total loss: $800.

Double loss

Two men were relieved of two laptops after a thief slipped into their car some time on July 26 and swiped them. There were no signs of forced entry. The car was parked along the 2400 block of 3rd Street. Estimated loss: $2,000.

Brazen burglar

A woman living on the 3300 block of Purdue Street called police after a burglar climbed on her roof and attempted to enter the house through a second story window. The man fled before officers arrived early Saturday morning.

Thief Caught in the Act

A man caught a thief trying to steal a few bicycles off the rack of his SUV parked in the Cuyahoga Falls Library parking lot early Sunday morning. As the man approached, the suspect ran behind the library and was found hiding in the bushes by police. He was charged with attempted theft.
