Falls Blotter: House Stripped of Valuable Metals; Barb Wire No Match for Thieves

The following was culled from Cuyahoga Falls police reports dated June 18. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Norton resident reported Monday that an unknown number of thieves broke into a vacant house he owns at the 2600 block of 13th Street and made off with a good deal of valuable metals. According to the report, they stole over 90 feet of copper pipe and ripped 20 feet of air conditioning lines from the residence. The extensive damage is still being assessed.

Barb wire vs. thief

On Monday morning, the owner of SGS Tool reported someone had cut through barbed wire fencing surrounding his lot and broke into a van parked on the property. They made off with tools and an infrared thermometer. Estimated loss: $500.
