Fake Veterinarian Charged With Cruelty to Animals

Brandi Tomko was hit with a list of charges this week after allegedly treating and performing botched surgeries on animals with no prior veterinary experience.

As of Wednesday, Brandi Tomko remained in Summit County Jail after being charged with injuring animals, cruelty to animals, practicing without a license and drug-related offenses, reports Fox 8 News.

In 2011, Tomko posed as a veterinarian at the C&D Veterinary Hospital on Brittain Road.

Without any prior experience or veterinary certification, she allegedly attempted to treat animals, and in some cases, performed botched surgeries on them, according to court documents.

Holly Denavich discovered Tomko was a fraud last May when she took her Yorkie terrier mix to C&D for treatment.

Denavich described her interactions with Tomko as “sketchy” and her suspicions were confirmed when she arrived home and couldn’t find Tomko on the Ohio Veterinarians Board web site.

She returned to C&D, received a refund and reported Tomko to the board.

Tomko is being held in Summit County Jail.

Here is a post I made after that. https://forums.craigslist.org/?ID=183716901 They are also Precious Lives Sanctuary. http://www.manta.com/c/mmj01d4/precious-lives-sanctuary Look it all up I reported this place everywhere I could and everyone fluffed me off. NO ONE would listen to me then but thank god they are finally shut down!

I went through the same thing in 2006. My Chihuahuas bladder was irreversibly damaged. I reported it and got nowhere. I should have seen a lawyer. Tomko claimed she was a vet tech back then.

I remember a young Brandi back in 2001 who was left with the entire responsibility of the clinic while being pregnant, while having a child, while trying to go to school to become a veterinarian. I understand things got bad but at one time I trusted her more than the doctors at Precious Lives. I love my dog and can understand how hurt you all can be but Brandi is not a monster. Things apparently went wrong and that, can happen to any of us. Shirley Grace

Andrea, If you know her and still feel that way that is one thing but if you are judging her strictly on what is in the news then it is very sad you feel this way.
