Ex-Little League Treasurer Found Guilty of Grand Theft

Julie Wingate, 41, of Cuyahoga Falls, will be sentenced on April 5 and faces anywhere from six to 18 months in prison.

 

Julie Wingate, 41, of Cuyahoga Falls, was found guilty of grand theft by a jury in Summit County Common Pleas Court on Monday, according to the Falls News Press.

Wingate, who stole $8,600 from a youth baseball organization while she was its treasurer, will be sentenced by Judge Tammy O'Brien on April 5.

She faces anywhere from six to 18 months in prison, but the sentence could be suspended if O'Brien gives her probation.

Wingate was indicted in 2011 on one count of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony, after stealing the money from an account belonging to the Cuyahoga Falls South Little League, according to Cuyahoga Falls police.
