Cuyahoga Falls Resident Confronts Burglar

A roundup of crime reports from Cuyahoga Falls police.

Theft:

  • A Staples employee called Cuyahoga Falls police just before 8:00 p.m. May 14 and reported a man had taken a pair of scissors and a phone charger, together worth $25.98, from the office supply store on Howe Avenue without paying for the items.
  • A woman living on the 1600 block of Phelps Avenue told police a woman approached her around 6 p.m. May 15, while she was outside walking her dog. She said the woman acted as if she knew the resident and allegedly talked her way into the woman's home, where she then stole a $100 high school class ring. There are currently no leads in the theft.
  • The manager of The Happening Lounge, located at 1768 State Road, reported $120 stolen just before 1 a.m. Tuesday morning from the store's cash register. A white male allegedly opened the register drawer, removed the cash, and fled through the McDonald's parking lot.

Burglary:

  • The resident of a home on the 3000 block of Hudson Drive called Cuyahoga Falls police Monday afternoon after he and his neighbor confronted a burglar that had just broken into his house. The resident said the suspect punched their neighbor in the face before fleeing on foot. The assault victim was treated by Cuyahoga Falls EMS and suffered minor injuries. Two of the resident's windows were broken during the incident.
