Cuyahoga Falls: Police Blotter

An update on the latest local crime from Jan. 12- Jan. 17.

A flurry of car break-ins are reported throughout Cuyahoga Falls.

A man living in an apartment on the 4000 block of Americana Drive reported that someone stole a Magellan GPS navigation device, along with the device's charger, valued at $90, from his Chevy Cavalier. The theft occurred sometime between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Jan. 13.

On the evening of Jan. 12, a man exercising at the Natatorium on Fourth Street reported his clothing and car keys stolen from the men's locker room. The suspected thief then used the victim's car keys to rummage through his Toyota Highlander, removing a wallet and cell phone, a total loss estimated at $304. The keys were then left in the ignition.

A total of 15 CDs and $20 in miscellaneous change, a loss of $170 total, were reported stolen from two separate vehicles by a resident on the 1800 block of Lancaster St. the morning of Jan. 11.

  • The pastor at at 2315 Phelps Ave. reported a stolen DVD player from one of the rooms in the lower level of the church the afternoon of Jan. 11. The DVD player was valued at $75. There were no signs of forced entry.

Burglary

  • A resident of a shared apartment on the 1600 block of 20th Street reported that someone kicked in the locked door to her private room between Jan. 11 and Jan. 13. Various items, including clothing, dolls, and medication, were missing, totaling $300.
