Crime Blotter: 'Turf' Wars

The following information was supplied by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An apparently coincidental series of vehicles being used to damage lawns and parks has led to two arrests.

Criminal damaging

• Tyler J. Davis of Cuyahoga Falls was arrested on charges of criminal damaging after his Jeep was stuck in ruts at Preston Park, 650 Taylor Ave., at about 10 p.m. Oct. 20. Damage has not been estimated.

• An unidentified vehicle caused about $100 in damage to grass at Indian Mound Park, 1552 Bailey Rd., at about 9:30 p.m.

• Police received reports of a lawn being “turfed” on the 1900 block of Searl St. at about 3 a.m. Oct. 20; the caller told police the car had gotten stuck in the lawn. Police found Jeffrey Huhn, wearing clothing that matched the caller’s description, walking toward the stuck vehicle. Huhn was arrested.

• A resident of the 500 block of Lynn Drive told police a rock was thrown through a large front window the night of Oct. 22.

• A glass sliding door at a home on the 2200 block of Winter Parkway was broken at about 2:20 a.m. Oct. 21. Damage is estimated at $500.

• Two unidentified juveniles threw something that struck a Lincoln MKS on the front passenger door, causing about $150 in damage, at about 5:15 p.m. Oct. 19 near the intersection of Woodhaven and Bath roads.

 Breaking and entering/burglary

Someone broke into three storage units of an apartment building on the 300 block of Falls Avenue, damaged two dryers and stealing property from storage. Damage is estimated at $200 and stolen items were valued at $400.

Disrupting school

Two students at , 2222 Issaquah, were cited for disrupting school after refusing to go to detention and then leaving school without permission at 1:55 p.m. Oct. 18. Their parents were notified.
