Catch Me if You Can; Heroin Arrest; and Daytime Burglary: Crime Blotter

Hillcrest Drive burglary

A burglar reportedly entered a man's home in the 1200 block of Hillcrest Drive June 10 and stole prescription pills, a laptop and a 32-inch flatscreen TV, according to a Cuyahoga Falls police report. 

Total loss: $1,350. 

There are no suspects or leads. 

Unhappy Buddha

A woman's "Happy Buddha" statue was reportedly stolen from her front yard in the 2500 block of 16th Street on June 9, according to a police report. 

The woman plans to press charges in hopes of finding the concrete god. 

Total loss: $200. 

Catch me if you can

Scribe D. Martinez, 35, of Cuyahoga Falls, was arrested and hit with multiple charges after trying to run from police while at the Falls River Square Irish Festival on June 9. 

Martinez, who tried to lie about his identity when questioned, was reportedly in possession of Dilaudid (a powerful painkiller) and two hypodermic needles, according to the police report. 

He was charged with drug abuse and obstructing official police business, both fifth-degree felonies; drug abuse instruments,  a first-degree misdemeanor; and drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. 

Caught with heroin

On June 9, George R. Collins IV, 35, of Cuyahoga Falls, was pulled over at Bailey Road and Front Street and reportedly possessed a hypodermic needle containing heroin. 

He was charged with a felony count of possession of drugs and a misdemeanor count of drug abuse instruments. (The degree of the charges was not specified in the police report.)

His passenger, Frank P. Lukens, 35, of Akron, was also arrested due to an outstanding warrant.
