Car Buyer Fooled by Altered Odometer; Natatorium Theft; and Stolen Jewelry

The following was obtained from Cuyahoga Falls police reports, dated Dec. 30 to Jan. 2.

Sticky fingers

A resident living in the 1800 block of Second Street called Cuyahoga Falls police on Jan. 2 and reported someone had stolen his wife's engagement ring. Total loss: $700. According to the police report, officers have a suspect in connection with the jewelry theft.

A Cuyahoga Falls woman bought a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer this past September with 48,000 miles, or so she thought. On Jan. 1 she notified police after finding documentation, which indicated the SUV actually had 187,000 miles. The woman does wish to press charges given the substantial reduction in value to the car. Police are investigating the reported felony incident.

A woman reported her UGG boots were stolen from an unlocked locker at the Natatorium on Dec. 30. Total loss: $200. There are no leads or suspects.
