Burglar Seizes Opportunity; Target Employee Assaulted: Crime Blotter

The following was provided by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Carpe window

A burglar reportedly crawled through an open window of a Clyde Avenue apartment on May 29 and nabbed nearly $1,800 in electronics.

There are no leads or suspects, according to the police report.

Cheap shot

On May 26, a Target security guard reportedly spotted two women stealing merchandise and confronted them.

When he approached the pair, one of the women elbowed him in the face. The duo fled, hopped in a car and sped off on Howe Avenue, according to a police report.

Not so fast

As police were investigating a trespassing call at Studio City on May 4, they encountered a 52-year-old Akron woman who gave them a fake name.

They quickly learned her real identity and found a warrant had been issued for her arrest. As she was being questioned in the Winter Parkway apartment complex, she faked a leg injury then tried to flee.

She was arrested and charged with obstruction of official police business, a second-degree misdemeanor.
