Akron Minor Charged With Aggravated Robbery

A 16-year-old was charged this morning with the first-degree felony for his alleged role in a gunpoint holdup.

A 16-year-old Akron resident was charged with aggravated robbery today for his alleged role in a gunpoint holdup that occurred earlier this month. 

According to the t, on Aug. 19, a 13-year-old boy reported that he and a friend were held up by two people at Riverfront Parkway near Broad Boulevard.

The two male suspects approached the young teenagers on bicycles, robbed them at gunpoint and fled.

Following the report, police were able to identify one of the robbers, and his parent turned him on Thursday night. 

He was then transferred to the Summit County Juvenile Court and charged with the first-degree felony.

The gun has not been recovered, the other teenager is still at-large and the investigation is ongoing. 

Since he's a minor, the teenager's name and photo are being withheld.
