Mary Ann Thomas, 80, Beloved Mother

Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mary Ann Thomas, 80, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 9.

Born in Tallmadge, she had lived most of her life in Cuyahoga Falls. She was a devoted parishioner of , according to clifford-shoemaker.com.

She attended George Barber Grade School and graduated from in January 1950. Her first place of employment was Lawson Milk Company. She worked as a secretary for Costigan Precast in the Falls, then worked 17 years at Goodyear Tire in the Billing and Credit Department before retiring in 1993.

Mary Ann loved life, her family and was always strong in her faith. She especially loved her daughters, being Nana to her grandson and spending every minute of the past 28 years with her soul mate, Hank Dement. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and taking pictures of all. She loved playing cards with her sisters and passing the crown to the victor.

Calling hours will be held at , 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls on Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 5 - 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Eugene Catholic Parish, located at 1821 Munroe Falls Ave, Cuyahoga Falls on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon immediately following at the church. Mary Ann always loved the color purple so if you are so inclined, please feel free to wear a touch of purple as we celebrate Mary Ann's life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa.
