When is the best time to talk about tax increases?

Did our Mayor act to clarify the facts or silence the person who asked for more facts?

To:  All of the kind people in our community who want to operate in an honest, open, and responsible manner,

Based on the action described in our Fall News Press on March 24, 2013, what should our voters think and feel about the actions of some of our public officials? 

Other comments / questions during the council meeting included:

1. What causes businesses to move out of our city?

2. "Have you been listening tonight?", asked the Mayor

3. What are the alternative cost projections?

To the above list of questions, please allow me to add the following questions:

4.  With respect to question #2, did the Mayor intend to clarify the facts or silence the person asking for more facts?

5.  If question #2 was intended to silence the person then how do business people feel and think about the Mayor who asked question #2?

6.  If question #2 was a successful silencer then how do we describe this action?

7.  Does the Mayor's action feel aggressive, passive, or assertive?

8.  Does a request for facts feel useful to our voters?

9.  Should decisions related to costs be based on informed choices?

10. Or, should cost decisions be based on feelings about the integrity of one of our Mayors?
