Can we see a spreadsheet to show the expected 30 year cash flow?

Does 'Portage Crossing' put us in the crosshairs of an existential crisis?

Here are some questions for us to ponder:

1. Can our council make an informed choice without an expected cash flow spreadsheet?

2. In the absence of a ... spreadsheet (the facts) must our council make an uninformed choice based on feelings?

3. If we had a spreadsheet regarding the levy to improve our school buildings then what facts (total view) do we see?

Below is a small example of how Patch or Google tools can present a spreadsheet to the public.

Expected Future Cash Flow in Millions of Dollars: Year: 2010 2015 2020 2025 2030 Income - $: 0 0 ? ? ? Cost - $: 10 20 ? ? ? Net - $: -10 -20 ? ? ?

If corporations do 'cash flows' then why can't our local public officials do cash flows?

But, if our newspaper reporters do not know how to post a spreadsheet then how does that help our public officials?

And, if our voters do not know how to ask their public officials questions by using tools like Patch and Google then how does that help our community?

And, if our candidates for office are unable to use the latest tools then how do our voters make an informed choice regarding their votes for candidates to hold office?

Clearly, all kinds of questions could be asked about who is unwilling or unable to do what.

But, the primal question becomes, "How can we help each other to do better?"

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
