American Red Cross Blood Drive

Recent winter weather has caused the cancellation of 23 blood drives and the inability of the Northern Ohio Blood Services Region to collect 1,300 pints of blood for local patients.  Nationally, the American Red Cross has been forced to cancel over 750 blood drives and over 28,000 scheduled blood donations since January 1 due to the severe weather.    As a result, in this period blood collections are the lowest we have seen in a decade. We need your help NOW.

At any given moment patients rely on life-saving blood products.  This need is constant - even in emergency situations such as severe weather.  The quickest help will come from local blood donors who are able to give at a blood drive near them.

The Red Cross is grateful to those who are responding to this call to help the blood supply recover to sufficient levels. We hope you will join the recovery in the coming days too.
