Despite highly improbable odds, Aimee Nelson, 19, and her identical twin sister, Ashlee, both gave birth to boys on Dec. 31 within two hours of each other, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Donavyn Scott Bratten, Aimee's newborn son, arrived first at 12:11 p.m. Monday, and weighed in at 7 pounds, 2½ ounces and measured 21 inches long.
Aiden Lee Alan Dilts, Ashlee's son, weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 22½ inches long.
Dr. Laura Schnegg delivered both at Summa Akron City Hospital.
According to the sisters' mother, Marcella Farson, the babies were due about one week apart and neither had planned same-day births.
Aimee, of Kenmore, and Ashlee, of Wadsworth, couldn't be happier and are eager to give their newborns Christmas presents when released from the hospital, according to the Beacon.
