Viewfinder: Ramadan Iftar
The Islamic Society of Akron and Kent gathered in Cuyahoga Falls Sunday to break their daily fast and hold a fundraiser.
Ramadan is celebrated in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. A fast is observed each day from sunrise to sunset.
The holiday is observed by Muslims around the world, who are encouraged to achieve spiritual purification achieved through fasting, self-sacrifice and prayers.
